Abstract
A freeze-drying process which reduces loss of the freeze-dried product comprising adding a liquid solution comprising a solid product dissolved in a solvent to a glass container having its inside surface coated with a silicone material; subjecting the container with the liquid solution therein to acceptable operable freeze-drying conditions to remove the solvent and leave the solid product in the container in the form of a dense compact coherent solid; and sealing the container to maintain the solid product stable over a useful storage shelf life. An article of manufacture comprising a sealed glass container having its inside surface coated with a silicone material and containing an in situ freeze-dried dense compact coherent solid product.
