Abstract

A cyanoacrylate adhesive composition having improved toughness comprising a cyanoacrylate monomer and an effective toughening amount of a polyester polymer derived from a dibasic aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid and a glycol and having repeating units of the structure: ##STR1## where R is the organic residue of the dibasic carboxylic acid and R.sup.1 is the organic residue of the glycol, the polyester having a weight average molecular weight of greater than 10,000 and a Tg of from about -40.degree. to 30.degree.
