Abstract

A standard solution containing thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG) and thyroxine or triiodothyronine dissolved in a buffer solution is used for calibration in a method for the determination of thyroxine (T.sub.4) or triiodothyronine (T.sub.3) in serum, wherein both human and bovine TBG can be used.
