Abstract
1,4-Diketopyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrroles of formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each independently of one another hydrogen, Cl, Br, CH.sub.3, OCH.sub.3, CN or phenyl, and at least one of the substituents R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is a group EQU --O(CH.sub.2).sub.n X or --O(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.p CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 X wherein PA0 n is an integer from 2 to 12, and PA0 p is an integer from 1 to 3, PA0 X is a heterocyclic radical selected form the group consisting imidazolyl, pyrazolyl, triazolyl, piperazinyl, pyridinyl, pyrrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, benzoxazolyl, indolyl, benzthiazolyl, benzimidazolyl, benzotriazolyl, morpholinyl, piperidinyl and pyrrolidinyl, which radical is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two methyl groups, or is a group --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 or --N[(CH.sub.2).sub.n -NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 ].sub.2, wherein PA0 R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are each independently of the other hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or C.sub.5 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl. Pigment compositions comprising a minor amount of said compounds and diketopyrrolopyrrole pigments have excellent rheological and colouristic properties, especially in paint systems and in printing inks.
