Abstract of the Disclosure: Styrene derivatives I ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is H or halogen, R.sup.2 is halogen, R.sup.3 is H, halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, R.sup.4 is CN or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkylcarbonyl and A is a heterocyclic radical A.sub.1 to A.sub.5 : ##STR2## where R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are H, CH.sub.3 or C.sub.2 H.sub.5, n is 0 or 1 and X is oxygen or sulfur, with the proviso that R.sup.4 is alkylcarbonyl when R.sup.1 is H and at the same time A is A.sub.2 where n is 0, and agriculturally useful salts thereof, processes for the preparation of the styrene derivatives I and herbicides containing them.
