Abstract

The invention relates to 3-aryluracils of formula I ##STR1## wherein W is a group of formula ##STR2## in which the linkage to the ring nitrogen atom is through the carbon atom: R.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, C.sub.3 - or C.sub.4 alkenyl or C.sub.3 - or C.sub.4 alkynyl; PA1 R.sub.2 is halogen or cyano; PA1 R.sub.3 is hydrogen or fluoro; PA1 R.sub.4 is hydrogen, halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; PA1 R.sub.5 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.1 C.sub.4 haloalkyl; PA1 R.sub.6 to R.sub.9 are each independently of one another hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl or phenyl; or PA1 R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 or R.sub.8 and R.sub.9, together with the linking carbon atom, form a 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-membered ring which may be substituted by one or more C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl groups; or R.sub.7 and R.sub.9, together with the linking carbon atoms, form a 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-membered ring which may be substituted by one or more C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl groups; PA1 m is 0 or 1; PA1 R.sub.10 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.3 - or C.sub.4 alkenyl, C.sub.3 - or C.sub.4 alkynyl, C.sub.1 -C.…
