Abstract

A photographic element with particular polymeric ultraviolet absorbers. The ultraviolet absorbers have repeating units of the formula: ##STR1## wherein: X is O or NH; PA1 Y is H or halogen; PA1 R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of H, halogen, alkoxy , straight chain or branched alkyl group of 1 to 8 carbons; PA1 R.sub.2 is C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkylene which may be straight chain or branched; and PA1 R.sub.3 is H or CH.sub.3. Elements of the invention have good fresh Dmin and image dye stability, and the ultraviolet absorbers therein are highly light stable.
