Abstract
Methods of introgressing one or more desired quantitative traits into a plant comprising screening one or more restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLP) for association with desired quantitative traits (QT), selecting one or more RFLP's showing association with the desired QT's, developing a mathematical model based on the magnitude of the association of RFLP(s) to predict the degree of expression of the desired QT's, and using the thus-selected RFLP(s) and the mathematical model in a plant breeding program to predict the degree of introgression and expression of the desired QT's in plant progeny.
