Abstract

Calcined silica/oxide zeolites, characteristically MFI stannozeosilites or zirconozeosilites, well adopted for catalyzing the H.sub.2 O.sub.2 hydroxylation of phenols or phenol ethers, have the formula (I): EQU (Si.sub.96-x T'.sub.x)0.sub.192 (I) in which x is a number ranging from 0.1 to 5.0 and T' is tetravalent tin or tetravalent zirconium.
