Abstract

Herbicidal sulfonylureas of the formula I, ##STR1## in which X is --O--, --O--NR.sup.2 -- or --SO.sub.2 --NR.sup.2 --, Y is --N-- or CH, PA0 R.sup.1 is (substituted) alkyl, (substituted) alkenyl or (substituted) alkynyl, or else, where X=O, (substituted) phenyl, PA0 R.sup.2 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or cycloalkyl, PA0 R.sup.3, R.sup.4 are H, (substituted) alkyl or (substituted) alkoxy, halogen, alkylthio, alkylamino or dialkylamino and PA0 R.sup.5, R.sup.6 are H or alkyl, and their salts with acids or bases, are prepared by reacting compounds of the formula II ##STR2## with compounds of the formula III ##STR3##
