A lubricating oil composition for high-performance gasoline and diesel engines comprising: (a) a major amount of a base oil having a lubricant viscosity; (b) a zinc dithiophosphate antiwear/antioxidant additive; and (c) a minor amount of an organic phosphate-ester as antiwear extreme wear additive.
