Abstract
A process for inactivating the biological activity of DNA, especially recombinant DNA, is disclosed. The process includes the step of heating the DNA at 60.degree. to 100.degree. C. in the presence of an acid other than percarboxylic acid at a concentration of at least 0.2 mM and a pH value of maximum 4, preferably 3.
