A modular "knock-down" type shelving system having adjustable height shelves includes a plastic support post having a generally right equilateral triangular cross-section. The support post is composed of pultruded thermosetting plastic having unidirectional E Glass fibers extending therethrough and a thermoplastic coating bonded to the outer surface thereof.
