Abstract

A silver halide emulsion comprises at least one dispersion medium and silver halide grains having a silver iodide content of less than 5 mol %. At least 5% by number of the silver halide grains have at least one intrafacial epitaxy limited in the neighborhood of the corners of a major plane of the grain, and the thickness of the epitaxy is 0.1 .mu.m or less. A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support, wherein this emulsion layer comprises the above emulsion, is also disclosed.
