Abstract

A photographic element comprising a support having provided thereon a light-sensitive layer and a transparent magnetic recording layer, the magnetic recording layer comprising a transparent polymeric binder, ferro-magnetic particles and tin oxide particles, the magnetic particles having a surface area greater than 30 m.sup.2 /gm and a coverage of from about 1.times.10.sup.-11 mg/.mu.m.sup.3 to about 1.times.10.sup.-10 mg/.mu.m.sup.3, the tin oxide particles having a median diameter of less than 0.15 .mu.m and being present in the transparent magnetic layer in an amount of from 300 to 1200 percent by weight based on the weight of the binder.
