Abstract
A railway car body structure running at a high speed and a production method thereof. To reduce vibration and noise and to prevent influences of outdoor pressure variations on passengers in the case of a high-speed railway car, the weight of the car body structure must be reduced and its pressure resistance must be improved. Each of the side units, roof unit and end unit and floor plates of an underframe of the car body structure includes plate members obtained by joining two surface materials, a core material and binding materials through metal-to-metal bonding. The sheet thickness of the surface material on an outdoor side is greater than a sheet thickness of the surface material on an indoor side. The plate members are constructed as a block, and a plurality of blocks are joined so as to form the side units, roof unit or the floor plates of the underframe.
