Abstract

A composition is disclosed, comprising PA1 (1) a polyamide as a dispersed phase and PA1 (2) a polyarylene sulfide as a continuous phase, wherein at least a part of the polyarylene sulfide has at least one modifying group directly bonded to the aromatic ring thereof, where the modifying group is selected from the group consisting of a carboxyl group, an alkali metal salt of a carboxyl group, and an alkaline earth metal salt of a carboxyl group, and where the modifying group is present at a ratio of 10 or more millimoles of the modifying group per kilogram of the polyamide. The composition has improved mechanical strength.
