Abstract

In a method for preparing 3-nitrobenzene sulphonic acid chloride from nitrobenzene and chlorosulphonic acid, nitrobenzene is reacted with chlorosulphonic acid at approximately 90.degree. to approximately 120.degree. C. and an inorganic acid chloride is then allowed to act on the resultant reaction mixture at approximately 40.degree. to approximately 90.degree. C.
