Abstract

The new 14.alpha.,16.alpha.-ethano- and 14.alpha.,16.alpha.-etheno-estratrienes of general formula I, ##STR1## are described, in which A-B means a C-C single bond or C-C double bond, PA1 R.sub.1 means a hydrogen atom, a methyl or acyl group with 1-12 carbon atoms and PA1 X means oxygen or ##STR2## in which R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group with 1-12 carbon atoms, and a process for their production. The new compounds are very strong estrogens and are suitable for the production of pharmaceutical agents.
