Abstract

The invention relates to a process for producing a mainly closed cell phenolic foam by curing a foam system comprising at least a phenolic resin and a blowing agent. This curing is effected in the presence of an either or not alkylated morpholine which is fluorated whether completely or not and which corresponds to the following general structural formula: EQU C.sub.n H.sub.x F.sub.y NO wherein: PA1 N.gtoreq.4 PA1 x=2n+1-y PA1 y=2n+1-x. In this way, it is possible to obtain a phenolic foam having good insulation properties even if use is made of a blowing agent which is substantially free of CFC's or if the foam temperature is allowed to rise during the curing upto above 85.degree. C. to obtain a better curing.
