Abstract

The present invention provides an ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer comprising constituent units (a) derived from ethylene and constituent units (b) derived from an .alpha.-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, the ethylene copolymer being characterized in that PA1 (A) the ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer has a density (d) of 0.88 to 0.95 g/cm.sup.3 ; PA1 (B) the ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer has a MFR of 0.01 to 200 g/10 min as measured at a temperature of 190.degree. C. and a load of 2.16 kg; PA1 (C) the temperature (Tm) at which the exothermic curve of the ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) shows the highest peak and the density (d) satisfy the relation EQU Tm<400d-250; PA1 (D) the quantity fraction (W) of a n-decane-soluble component at room temperature satisfy the relation, PA2 in the case of MFR.ltoreq.10 g/10 min., EQU W<80.times.exp (-100(d-0.88))+0.1 PA2 in the case of MFR.gtoreq.10 g/10 min., EQU W<80.times.(MFR-9).sup.0.35 .times.exp (-100(d-0.88))+0.1; PA1 (E) the flow index (FI) defined by a shear rate which is given when a shear stress of molten copolymer at 190.degree. C. reaches 2.4.times.10.sup.6 dyne/cm.sup.2…
