Abstract
A process for producing hydrophobic or aerophobic solids having a particle size not exceeding 10 .mu.m, which solids can be dispersed in water in the form of discrete microparticles. In the process the solids are milled in an aqueous medium in the presence of a hydrocolloid to obtain a suspension containing suspended particles having an average particle size not exceeding 10 .mu.m. The suspension is then finely divided and dried to form a powder.
