Abstract

A composition and process for cleaning hard surfaces, the composition containing from 0.001 to 2% by weight, based on the weight of the composition, of a detergency booster comprising a copolymer of (a) from 20 to 80% by weight of esters selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alcohol component, and (b) from 20 to 80% by weight of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, wherein the copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity of at least 200 ml.g.sup.-1 as measured in tetrahydrofuran at 20.degree. C.
