Abstract

The present invention relates to a coating composition which is free from polyols and contains PA1 a) a polyisocyanate component, PA1 b) an aldimine based on the reaction product of a polyamine having 2 or more primary amino groups with an aldehyde and PA1 c) a compound containing aspartate groups, wherein components a), b) and c) are present in an amount sufficient to provide an equivalent ratio of isocyanate groups to aldimine groups and aspartate groups of 0.5:1 to 20:1 and wherein component c) is present in an amount sufficient to form a clear solution within 60 minutes of mixing components a), b) and c), provided that the amount of component c) is at least 5% by weight, based on the weight of components b) and c). The present invention also relates to a polyurea coating prepared from this coating composition.
