Abstract
The 4-arylisoindoles of the following formula are effective analgesics: ##STR1## including the purified stereoisomers and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, PA1 wherein ##STR2## R.sup.b is hydroxy or C.sub.1-5 alkylcarbonyloxy.
