Abstract
A silver halide emulsion contains silver halide grains in a dispersion medium. Tabular silver halide grains having a thickness of less than 0.5 .mu.m, a diameter of 0.3 .mu.m or more, an aspect ratio of 2 or more, and 10 or more dislocations per grain account for 50% or more of a projected area of all the silver halide grains. The grains are formed in the presence of at least one compound which can oxidize silver atoms.
