Abstract

Preparation of water-soluble reactive dyes containing vinylsulphonyl and .beta.-sulphatoethylsulphonyl groups by the oxidation of dyes containing .beta.-hydroxyethylmercapto radicals, and then sulphation and, if appropriate, conversion of the .beta.-sulphatoethylsulphonyl radical to the vinylsulphonyl radical with bases.
