Abstract

Process for the preparation of sulfonylureas Herbicidal sulfonylureas of the formula I, ##STR1## in which X is --O--, --0--NR.sup.2 -- or --SO.sub.2 --NR.sup.2 --, Y is --N-- or CH, PA1 R.sup.1 is (substituted) alkyl, (substituted) alkenyl or (substituted) alkynyl, or else, where X.dbd.O, (substituted) phenyl, PA1 R.sup.2 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or cycloalkyl, PA1 R.sup.3, R.sup.4 are H, (substituted) alkyl or (substituted) alkoxy, halogen, alkylthio, alkylamino or dialkylamino and PA1 R.sup.5, R.sup.6 are H or alkyl, and their salts with acids or bases, are prepared by reacting compounds of the formula II ##STR2## with compounds of the formula III ##STR3##
