Abstract
The present invention relates, in general, to .alpha.-amylase, and, in particular to .alpha.-amylase from a hyperthermophilic archaebacterium, wherein said .alpha.-amylase is in pure form. The invention also relates to a method of purifying a hyperthermophilic .alpha.-amylase.
