Abstract
Disclosed are herbicidal tetrazolinone derivatives, selective in paddy fields of the formula ##STR1## wherein X represents C.sub.1-4 alkyl, PA1 n represents 1, 2, 3 or 4, PA1 R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 alkenyl, C.sub.2-6 alkynyl, C.sub.3-8 cycloalkyl, aryl which may optionally be substituted (wherein the substituent is at least one radical selected from the group consisting of halogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-2 haloalkyl, C.sub.1-2 haloalkoxy, C.sub.1-2 haloalkylthio, acyl, nitro and cyano) or aralkyl optionally substituted by halogen or PA1 R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 form, together with the N-atom to which they are bonded, a cyclic ring which may be substituted. Also, disclosed are novel intermediates useful in the preparation of the compounds of formula (I).
