Abstract

Luster pigments based on multiply coated plateletlike metallic substrates comprise at least one layer packet comprising PA0 A) a colorless coating having a refractive index n.ltoreq.1.8, and PA0 B) a selectively absorbing coating having a refractive index n.gtoreq.2.0 and also if desired additionally PA0 C) an outer, colorless or selectively absorbing coating different than the layer (B) underneath.
