Abstract
Disclosed are conditioning compositions for the hair and skin containing compounds of the formula (R.sup.1)(R.sup.2)N(CHCH.sub.2 OC(O)R).sub.2 X.sup.- wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or hydroxyalkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 is alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or benzyl; X.sup.- is an anion; and R is alkyl and alkylene of 12 to 22 carbon atoms having 0 to 3 carbon--carbon double bonds, provided that at least 2 different chain lengths R are present and 0, 1 and 2 such double bonds are present.
