Abstract

The invention describes a novel polyester raw material and the production and use of an oriented, single- or multilayer film having an overall thickness of .ltoreq.4 .mu.m and a roughness on at least one film surface of R.sub.a <30 nm, where the surface gas-flow resistance on at least one film surface is EQU t.ltoreq.a.multidot.d.sup.b [sec], where a=0 to 10,000 [sec/.mu.m], b=3.0 to .sigma., and d (overall film thickness) .ltoreq.4 .mu.m. The film contains first (I) and second (II) particles. The first particles are monodisperse and have an aspect ratio of 1.0-1.2.
