Abstract

The efficacy of an agricultural chemical can be enhanced by using a specific fatty acid alkanolamide or a fatty acid ester or carboxymethylated derivative thereof represented by the following formula (I) together with the agricultural chemical: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group having 5 to 29 carbon atoms; each R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; each R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 may be the same or different from each other and each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a group represented by the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.6 represents a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group having 1 to 29 carbon atoms, or a group represented by the formula: --CH.sub.2 COOX, wherein X represents a hydrogen atom, a sodium atom, a potassium atom, an ammonium group or an organic ammonium group.
