Abstract

An image display apparatus includes an image generator for generating first light having image information, and a beam combiner for superimposing the first light and second light which is incident upon the beam combiner from a direction different from that of the first light, and for guiding the superimposed light to a pupil of an observer. Also provided is a reflector positioned in a direction different from the incident direction of the second light on the beam combiner. The first light is incident upon the reflector via the beam combiner, and is reflected back to the beam combiner after being reflected by the reflector.
