Abstract

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a compound of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which X is an optionally protected formyl group and PA1 R is a group which is itself inert to the reaction conditions of the synthesis, which comprises reacting a compound of the formula (II) ##STR2## where X is as defined above, with a substituted phenyl-halogen compound of the formula (III) ##STR3## where the substituent Hal is a halogen group and R is as defined above.
