Abstract
There is provided a method for making a lithographic printing plate according to the DTR-process from a printing plate precursor comprising on a hydrophilic surface of a support in the order given a layer of physical development nuclei and a silver halide emulsion layer from an original containing continuous tones comprising the steps of: PA1 frequency modulation screening said original to obtain screened data, PA1 image-wise exposing said printing plate precursor according to said screened data, PA1 developing a thus obtained image-wise exposed lithographic printing plate precursor by means of an alkaline processing solution in the presence of a developing agent and a silver halide solvent yielding a lithographic printing plate, characterized in that the frequency modulated halftone dot with the greatest main dimension on said lithographic printing plate has a main dimension of more than 21 .mu.m.
