Abstract

A thermally insulated container of the present invention is a double-walled container in an integral body in which an inner casing is arranged in an outer casing so as to maintain a space therebetween, wherein the space is charged with a gas having a low thermal conductivity, and an opening having a diameter of 0.1 to 3 mm for charging gas in a wall of either of the inner casing and the outer casing is sealed. In a production process of the present invention, a double-walled container is obtained by arranging an inner casing in an outer casing so as to maintain a space therebetween, and by joining them into an integral body, a wall of either of the inner casing and the outer casing being provided with an opening for charging gas; then, the double-walled container is placed in a thermostatic chamber, a charging-evacuating tube which is switchably disposed to a vacuum evacuation apparatus and to a source of a gas having a low thermal conductivity is connected to the opening for charging gas, the space between the walls of the inner and outer casings is subjected to vacuum evacuation at a predetermined temperature, and thereafter a gas having a low thermal conductivity is introduced; …
