Abstract
The invention provides a photographic element comprising a light sensitive silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a dye-forming coupler having formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, and heterocyclic groups; PA0 R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, and heterocyclic groups; PA0 W is C(O) or S(O).sub.2 ; PA0 R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl and aryl groups having a calculated logP of at least 9; PA0 Y is a substituent; and PA0 X is H or a coupling-off group.
