Abstract

A color photographic silver halide material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer, which is stabilized with a compound of formula (I) or (II) ##STR1## where X represents O or NR.sub.2 PA1 Y represents halogen, PA1 Z.sup..crclbar. represents an anion, PA1 R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or a substituent, or jointly with X represents the remaining members of a condensed ring PA1 R.sub.2 represents hydrogen or a substituent, and PA1 Q represents the atoms required for the completion of a 5- or 6-membered ring, is characterized by enhanced stability.
