The attachment device includes comprises a front section, a rear section, and a pair of straps interconnecting the sections. The straps are arranged to be releasably secured together by VELCRO.RTM. or other hook and loop fasteners and can be extend about the upper of the boot to prevent the rear section of the device from becoming disengaged from the boot. The underside of the sole of the attachment device includes ridges and ice-penetrating projections or studs to provide a non-slip surface.
