Abstract

A process for recycling plastic waste in a steam cracker, wherein a melt obtained from plastic waste is converted into products at from 400.degree. 550.degree. C., and a distillate fraction is separated off from the products at from 180.degree. to 280.degree. C. and is fed as feed material to a steam cracker.
