Abstract
The invention relates to an oxidation dye composition for keratin fibers, in particular for human keratin fibers such as hair, of the type comprising, in a medium which is suitable for dyeing, at least one oxidation dye precursor and optionally one or more couplers, and which is characterized in that it contains (i) as oxidation dye precursor, at least one para-phenylenediamine substituted in the 2-position on the benzene ring with a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 hydroxyalkyl or hydroxyalkoxy radical, and/or at least one of the addition salts thereof with an acid, and (ii) at least one cationic or amphoteric substantive polymer. The invention also relates to the use of this composition for dyeing keratin fibers, especially hair.
