Abstract

Transparent polymer composition comprising: PA1 a component A comprising: PA2 at least 10% by weight of a monomer or of a mixture of monomers (I), containing at least one thioacrylate or thiomethacrylate function; PA2 0 to 90% by weight of one or more monomers (II) which are copolymerizable by a radical route, preferably mono- or polyfunctional vinyl, acrylic or methacrylic; and PA1 a component B comprising, relative to the weight of the component A: PA2 0.1 to 15% by weight of one or more monomers (III) containing an ethylenic unsaturation which does not contribute to an aromatic system and having a carbon bearing a free hydroxyl group in an .alpha. position relative to the ethylenic unsaturation. Application to the manufacture of ophthalmic lenses.
