Abstract

Very long chain alkylphenyl polyoxyalkylene amines having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is an alkyl group having at least 40 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl having about 1 to about 2 carbon atoms and each R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is independently selected in each --O--CHR.sub.2 --CHR.sub.3 -- unit; PA1 A is an amine moiety derived from ammonia, a primary alkyl monoamine having about 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a secondary dialkyl monoamine having about 1 to 20 carbon atoms in each alkyl group, or a polyamine having about 2 to about 12 amine nitrogen atoms and about 2 to about 40 carbon atoms; PA1 x is an integer from about 1 to about 2; and y is an integer from about 5 to about 50. The very long chain alkylphenyl polyoxyalkylene amines of the present invention are useful as fuel additives for the prevention and control of engine deposits.
