Abstract

A water-containing cleaning composition having a pH value of 3.0 to 6.5 containing 0.1% to 50% by weight of at least one alkyl glycoside corresponding to formula (I): EQU R.sup.1 --O--G!.sub.x wherein R.sup.1 is a branched or linear, saturated or unsaturated alkyl group containing 6 to 11 carbon atoms, G is a glycose or xylose unit and x is a number of 1 to 10, 0. 1 % to 30% by weight of at least one fatty alcohol ether corresponding to formula (II) ##STR1## in which R.sup.2 is an alkyl radical containing 6 to 12 carbon atoms, m is a number of 0.5 to 3.0 and n is a number of 4.0 to 12.0, based on the weight of the composition, and which is free from hydrotropes based on organic acids.
