An iron-nickel alloy, the chemical composition of which includes by weight: EQU 30%.ltoreq.Ni+Co.ltoreq.85%; EQU 0%.ltoreq.Co+Cu+Mn.ltoreq.10%; EQU 0%.ltoreq.Mo+W+Cr.ltoreq.4%; EQU 0%.ltoreq.V+Si.ltoreq.2%; EQU 0%.ltoreq.Nb+Ta.ltoreq.1%; EQU 0.003%.ltoreq.C.ltoreq.0.05% 0.003%.ltoreq.Ti.ltoreq.0.15%; EQU 0.003%.ltoreq.Ti+Zr+Hf.ltoreq.0.15%; EQU 0.001%<S+Se+Te<0.015%; and the remainder, iron and impurities resulting from production; in addition, the chemical composition satisfies the relationship: EQU 0.ltoreq.Nb+Ta+Ti+Al.ltoreq.1%.
