Abstract
Azo dyes of the formula ##STR1## where D is the radical of a diazo component of the aniline series or the series of the aromatic heterocyclic amines, PA1 R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 -alkyl, which may be substituted, C.sub.5 -C.sub.7 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkenyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, or are together with the nitrogen atom joining them together a heterocyclic radical, and PA1 R.sup.3 is tert-butyl or tert-pentyl, are useful for thermal transfer and for dyeing or printing synthetic materials.
