Abstract
Synthetic biopolymers can be prepared using recombinant DNA technology or chemical synthetic methods which have properties similar to naturally occuring gelatin or collagen. These materials comprises one or more polypeptides having the peptide sequence represented by the formulae: ##STR1## wherein PA1 Xaa.sub.1 and Xaa.sub.2 are independently the amino acids identified as Met, Ile, His, Lys, Asn, Tyr or Gln, and n is 1 to 25.
