Abstract
The present invention relates to water-dilutable polyurethane resins which are characterized in that they have been prepared using diols of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are an identical or different radical and are an alkyl radical having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, an aryl radical or a cycloaliphatic radical, with the proviso that R.sub.1 and/or R.sub.2 may not be methyl, and/or diols of the formula (II) ##STR2## in which R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each identical or different radicals and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl radical or an aryl radical and R.sub.5 is an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aryl radical of an unsaturated alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and n is either 0 or 1.
